Welcome to “La Herpiniere” the Normandy home of Tony and Natalia Smith.

Originally from the East Midlands, we moved here in September 2002 wanting a new challenge.

We spent the next three years renovating our house and restoring the gite. The four acres of grounds have also received a great deal of time and attention. We have created a new garden whilst retaining the natural features that blend so well into the local countryside. 

“La Herpiniere” is also a haven for wildlife. To date we have spotted Deer, Red Squirrels, Kingfishers, Buzzards,Coypu, Foxes, Badgers, Different Owls, Woodpeckers, Cuckoos, Hares, Swallowtail Butterflies & Hummingbird Moths. One of our guests spotted 33 different kind of birds over a one week period, including a Willow Tit and a Tree Creeper.
We hope that the addition of a large pond will only add to your enjoyment of "la Herpiniere" (with the safety of our younger visitors in mind, the pond has been fenced off from the gite)

“La Herpiniere” is our home so we are always on hand to help you make the most of your stay in this beautiful area.
