Summer is here and with it the Grand Depart of the Tour de France at nearby Le Mont St Michel. It was too good an opportunity to miss and we went to nearby La Chapelle-Uree to watch Stage 3 of the race from Granville to Angers. It was an incredible atmosphere and a wonderful event to watch either as a curious observer or ardent fan. We collected plenty of goodies to from the sponsor caravan that came through ahead of the main race.
As always, we are busy at La Herpiniere, keeping the grounds looking the best they can and tending the huge number of flowers and trees that populate the garden. Of course, it's not always hard work and we can relax by our pond on the warm summer days and enjoy a BBQ or two!
There's an abundance of fruit and vegetables this year. Whilst we aren't yet self sufficient, there is more than enough to share with our guests. Debbie makes full use of the tayberries, blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries by producing wonderful jam and conserves for our guests to enjoy when they visit the Gite.
Why not join us and stay at our lovely Gite and enjoy what La Herpiniere and Normandy have to offer?
A bientôt! Robin and Debbie
