2017 - Pollarding, Starlings and Sunsets

February 14, 2017

Changes of the seasons and of the year have heralded some stunning sights at La Herpiniere.  As you would probably expect, it has been chilly with night frosts but gorgeousl sparkling days, thoroughly enjoyed by the guests who have stayed with us over the season. We've enjoyed some magnificent sunsets too.

The local starling population have also enjoyed staying here and regularly 'park' on the nearby power lines, before roosting overnight in our monkey puzzle tree.

Groundwork continues, as it must, to keep the grounds and trees in good condition and to keep us supplied with wood for the colder days!  We have been introduced to 'pollarding and coppicing' to manage our lime and hazel trees that grow in abundance here.  We are working hard to ensure that when you stay with us at La Herpiniere, you are ensured of a peaceful and relaxing stay within the beautiful gardens and countryside.

A bientôt!
