Croquet and Confiture
Summer has been with us for a few weeks now and nature has provided her bounty for Debbie to work her magic and produce outstanding home made jam! An abundance of blackcurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries, raspberries, tayberries, cherries and strawberries have crammed our fruit bushes and kept everyone busy harvesting the fruit. The plums, mirabelles, damsons and of course, apples and pears are ripening for later on in the season. Phew, it's tiring just writing about it!
We've also considered what we could add to La Herpiniere without detracting from the beautiful gardens that we have here. So, we had a bit of a think and, from nowhere, Debbie suggested croquet! So, after a bit of reading, mowing and hammering, we now have a half size croquet court (yes, that's the correct term!) and the accompanying croquet set. So, when you visit us, you can sit on the benches we've placed around our gardens and read the rules before trying your hand at the game or just take in the stunning views.
Oh yes, the inaugural game has taken place and Debbie won!
